My English competence in 2010.

Now it's time to choose my best written an oral evidences I have done in 2010. It has been difficult to pick up just one, but there are some compositions I have done which are better to forget and, obviously, there are some others worth romembering.

In my view, I've done my best composition this last term: 'Addicted to Facebook', probably because it's a subject I really like and feel familiar to it. This reflection is well structured with an introduction, a main body and a great conclusion. Moreover, I introduced some idioms (maybe the use of 'over my dead body' is a little bit exagerated) and I used many connectors. I think this reflection shows my maturity level and my ability to write good compositions in a foreign language.

In my opinion, my best oral evidence was done in the second term: 'Caffeine and tea'. It was about my research project (it sounds strange to pronounce it now that I've finished with it). I used technical words, which gave me a higher level of domination than my audience. However, I wasn't sure about the pronounciation, but I think I did a good job, well trained. What's more, I was familiar with the subject I was talking about; this fact made possible to improve if I didn't remember what I had to say.

In conclusion, I can say that I'm very proud of myself; at the first mail I said to Sònia that I had a special gift for writing and with Addicted to Facebook we can prove it.

If I compare my first written document and my last composition or my first oral presentatiion with my last one, I notice a big difference (mostly in my oral).

First, let's have a look in my compositions. We can analyze the structure: in my first composition, there's no organization at all; I just vomit some words. However, in my last composition about mind-body therapies, I order my ideas in some paragraphs. What's more, in first of batxillerat I use the conjuction 'and' in an exaggerated way, for example when I say: "and we went to his swimming pool in the afternoon and we had dinner there, together". Comparing to my last entry this year, I have used synonims wether for this conjunction or other connectors; last year I didn't use as much linking words as I do. I also repeated the subject in some sentences, for example: "Laura, Nuri and I, we have passed our drive test exam".

If we focus in my oral presentation we can observe many differences too. In my opinion, my first oral presentation wasn't so bad, but we always can improve in everything of course. I remember I was really nervous, my voice was trembling and I rarely looked at my audience; I did a lot of gestures as well. Taking my London report into account, we must consider it's very different; not only because I have improved, but also because the context changes from a class to an open space. My audience was more reduced, so I was more relaxed (even the people on the street looked at us while we were recording). I think I was more confident in London because I was more used to do it than at first of batxillerat.
On the hole, I think I have improved in all aspects, yet I hope to continue developing my English level. My last compositions are more reasonable and well structured, and my orals have more fluence and self-confidence.

Mind-body therapies.

For thousands of years it is said that we are able to cure an illness by controlling our emotions; many people, however, think that mind-body therapies are a waste of time. In my opinion, they can help us to enhace our selfesteem.

First, people who suffer an illness need to be confident, sure of themselves to combat it. In my view, mind -body therapies can help them to control and mantain this feeling of superation.

What's more, they need to be relaxed. An illness, apart from being difficult, is also quite stressful because of the constant visits to the doctor, the whole treatment... So it's important for them to have a peaceful break-time.

To sum up I would say that people must believe in mind-body trerapies because they can help them to get over a difficult stage in their lives.

Johnny Depp saved a friend of him days ago in Los Angeles. When the mugger saw Depp, he recognized him immediately: he ain't stealing from Captain Jack. The man left the bottle he was acting with and Johnny Depp gave him some money and told to go away.

Normally, celebrities say they don't like to be famous because people recognize them. Here we've got an example which proves that being famous can be also a good point.
It's obvious that being famous has its pros and its cons, like everything. However, I think this situation has more cons than pros. Even though they got a lot of money (usually more than the one they deserve), they don't have a private life: journalists are always chasing them.
Famous people can live their life in lustful conditions that normal people can't. If I became famous I'd like to have a huge and modern house in every country I wanted, with a big swimming pool and a beautiful garden. I would travel all around the world staying at the most expensive hotels, I would have my meals to the finest restaurants, I would buy many clothes with which I would fill my multiple wardrobes... Things that I can't do now actually I either need to.

Nevertheless there are different types of celebrities: people who has become famous for an important thing they've done (such as a discovery, films, music..), or people like Belén Esteban. It's shameful how our society treats these stupids as if they were people worth being admired.

There's a group in facebook saying: 'I also should have my face in the book'. Another which says: 'Join if you should be studying'. There's no doubt we lose a lot of our precious time in this virtual space. We should think about it... The time we spend in front of our computers, we could spend it doing some other useful things.

In my case, for example: I admit I'm a Facebook/messenger addicted. I arrive at home and I say to myself that over my dead body I'm going to connect on the Internet! But in some involuntary and uncontrolled way, I turn on my computer because I want (or I need) to connect with the world. Actually, now that I have an iPhone, I've also installed the ebuddy tool so I can connect it everywhere and every time.

When I'm studying (and I know I go against the clock) I try to turn off the computer, but normally I just shut the screen of the laptop so then it's faster. Every 15 minutes I'm opening it and visiting Facebook again, just to see what's going on.

As a matter of fact, when I see the time goes by, I get into the right frame of mind, I switch off my laptop and I take it to another room, far from me; in that way, I feel lazy if I have to stand up and go for it. Although it usually works, I have another solution, just in case.. I go downstairs and I study at the kitchen.

School work on the computer: another problem. While I'm writing this entry, I'm constantly visiting my Facebook site and I'm on ebuddy. You can imagine that this task takes me a lot of time, because (even though I know I'm not absolutely concentrated) I can't help it.

On the whole, I would make the most of my time if there weren't naughty machines and catchy technologies... Do you have any strategy to control your impulses and fight against them? Any advice for me?

Medicine vs vet.

Before finishing batxillerat, we'll have to take an important decision which will determine the rest of our lives: our degree. As you know I had practically decided it, yet I haven't now. I suppose I've noticed it's about to come and the possibility of taking the wrong decision scares me.

During my life, I've always been between veterinary science and medicine.

First I wanted to become a vet because of my love to animals and I'd like to treat and to care for them. Meanwhile, my grandfather tried to convince me that it's more satisfactory to help people than animals, but I wasn't completely sure about the idea; however, he finally conviced me and I decided to become a doctor. Since then, I've always defended it, insisting on my marks above all.

Nevertheless, the confusion came back and now I have no idea about what I have to choose! (I think I'm stressing Júlia as well with my degree chaos..!)

Medicine would take me 6 years before the MIR exam, apart from 5 more to study my specialization. It would be lots of hours of study and work. Veterinary science would suppose me 'only' 5 years (full of work too) and when finished, I wouldn't have to do any specialization: I would be already a vet.

On the other hand, I don't know where I want to study. If I finally chose veterinary, I will have to go to Barcelona because Bellaterra is the only university in Catalonia where these studies are given. The problem appears with medicine: should I go to Barcelona or may I stay in Girona? The mark in Barcelona is higher than in Girona, but I have to take a decision because I'll have to fill in my options list soon!

Well... I should make up my mind and chose: vet vs medicine, animals vs people.

Last Wednesday 14th, an Iceland's Eyjafjallajoekull volcano eruption, left a mixture of glass, sand and rock particles in the air. It prevented planes from flying across Europe, which has caused a lot of social problems: there have been some modifications at the French railway company SNCF, many flights have been cancelled, the next Saturday's Japanese MotoGP has been postponed...

It's my second news related to environmental problems, in this case, related to the atmosphere. Again, we prove our planet is uncontrollable and we just can do nothing against it.

Volcanoes are really dangerous. 1916, a year later of Waterloo War, is know as the 'year with no summer' because it was really cold, it had no spring... A century later, the reason was discovered: the Tambora volcano eruption in Sumbawa (Indonesia) in April of 1815. So I mean it's incredible how natural disasters afect the future of our planet!

This ash can seriously afect the atmosphere for several months; there are experts who also confirms that it can last for a year. I personally think it affects, in an indirectly way, to the economic crisis: if Spain (or any other country) was specting to receive tourists during this days, the Eyjafjallajoekull eruption has stopped any movement.

Landslide derails train in Italy.

Last Monday, in Bolzano (Italy), a train was overturned by a landslide. It was travelling on the Val Venosta line, passing through a strait valley when the landslide came and left the train near the border of a cliff near the river. The situation was not good: there were at least 7 victims and among the 20 injured people, 4 of them were in very serious conditions.

Earth is unpredictable. Although sometimes we believe we can control and dominate it, it's seen that we can't.

In Earth sciences subject, besides other matters, we study this type of Earth movements. Landslides occur with a change in the stability of a slope (from a stable to an unstable condition), caused by multiple factors such as erosion, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, groundwater pressure... Moreover, they are aggravated by human activities, for example deforestation or construction.

My opinion in this case is that the construction of the rail caused instability in the valley. First of all, the valley land could withstand this modification on its relief. Then, when the train was inaugurated and it started to circulate, the valley started to withstand more pressure, as well as the vibrations caused when the train passed; as a result, the ground there was altered. Finally, it gave way and it took place this landslide. Even though it has caused many injured and victims, fortunately the train stopped because of the vegetation. If there had not been trees, the train would have felt down the cliff and it would have been worse.

Hi mummy,

I arrived in Cameroon just 5 days ago but I'm ejoying a lot my stay here although I have a lot of work too.

Before leaving, I didn't imagine what life here is like. You know, I thought I would find poverty and desperation. Besides, there's a hope, a feeling of progress among people in this village.

People in Cameroon are very polite and they welcomed me with a lot of entusiasm. When I treat an ill person, he respects me; it's not like in Catalonia, where patients always want to be right. Even so, they sometimes break down because they understand their life's still in bad conditions and they know they can do nothing.

I must say to you I sometimes feel angry with our government, because I think they should do something to help developing countries. Now I realise we live in such good conditions compared with them...

60-year-old Australian man fights for his life against a wombat.

A 60-year-old man lost his house due to a fire in Australia. He had to live in a caravan while his home was being repaired and during his stay there, he had to fight against a wombat, a big Australian animal which bit him.

In my opinion, this man was lucky for not being killed by the wombat. There are people who think animals and humans can be friends, but I would ask them with which kind of animals can we establish a friendship? They'll probably answer me 'all of them'.

Obviously, I don't think so. In my view we can't pretend to be friends with wild animals, because they aren't born to be our friends; they are wild and, as a matter of fact, they'll always live independently in their own way.

However, there are many animals which we can establish a relationship and the best and easiest example are dogs. They are the most faithful humans' friends. I've always wanted to have one, but I've never had because my parents didn't allow it to me, but someday I know I will... I just have to wait till I have my own house.

For the last entry of this term, I'm not going to comment on a news. I think the biggest news this week has been the incredible snowfall in Catalonia on March the 8th.

I've never seen a trace of snow in Castelló; I remember years ago it snowed in Roses and my school got absolutely white. It was really beautiful too, but in Castelló didn't snow. I thought I would never see the snow again in Roses; actually, I thought I would never see snow if it wasn't in the mountains.

On Monday, we were in Catalan class and I looked through the window and shouted: it's snowing! I love winter and I love snow, so white, so bright.. It's so incredible water can turn into something so beautiful! I think nature is a big mystery, really changeable.

I spent all Monday at home. It was really cold and... what a bind having to go out in the street! So I just went out when it was necessary, that is, just to go lunch and I was useful to take some photos. At the afternoon I studied my last exams and I played games and cards with my mom.

In my opinion, it was great to see the snow, but when light, heating and water went away and I had no computer, no TV and no iPhone... I won't have stood it no more.

Dolphins turn diabetes on and off.

Dolphins are second only to humans in the ratio between body and brain size. They are very intelligent animals and very similar to us; even both animals are mammals, people and these clever animals have very different metabolisms.

It is said that dolphins have a type of diabetes 2 that they can switch on and switch off by the way they need it. In other words: they turn it on and produce insulin during their night, and turn it off after breakfast the next morning.

I’ve always liked dolphins, I find them very amusing animals. Actually I love animals, except of bees, spiders... you know, all those creepy crawlies.

In my opinion, it’s great to investigate how to solve human illnesses with animal resources; they are more helpful than we think. The pity is that not all cures are discovered already... And before scientists and researchers discover the solution for an illness, there are a lot of people dying for it, who will never enjoy life as future patients will be able to do.

Research is a very important branch of science. Humans are able to control illnesses and solve them, but the question is how many time will we be waiting before we find a solution for cancers, AIDS, malaria and all those lethal and grave illness?

Presentation

In my oral presentation I used PowerPoint which contained real images about my work in the laboratory. My focus was caffeine extraction, so my resources were really focused on my topic and they supported my explanation. This time, my timing was better than the first one, because it was 6 minutes.

Body language and eye contact

I didn't read my notes, because I prepared and practised my speech a lot before making it. I tried to look at the audience the most of the time, and I think I succeeded because I rarely look to the PowerPoint. I haven't improved with my body language, because this time I just also moved my arms.

Structure

I wasn't as original as I was the first time to introduce my exposition, just because I had no other way to do it. I organised my ideas in orther of importance; actually, it was how I carried out my research project. I used many makers to help the audience and I repeated my key ideas at the end, to remember them and understand the conclusions.

Content

All the information I introduced to my audience was new, because it was a specialized topic. My information was detailed and extensive, and I think it was very clear, easy to understand. I referenced all my information and I justified them all.

Language

My grammar was correct and simple, easy to comprehend my speech. My vocabulary was rich and varied, because I introduced new and topic-related words. I also used sentence connectors and fillers.

Pronunciation and intonation

I think I’ve got a good pronunciation and it was comprehensible. My tone of voice wasn't monotone but I think I could do it better. I spoke in a fluid continuum; however, I think I talked a little bit slowly.

Should human rights be enforced by law or optional?

Nowadays, human rights don't exist everywhere, or they aren't respected all over the world. Should there be a law saying taht human rights must be respected?

The point is that law exists to protect people and pleople have those human rights. It's necessary to enforce human rights by law, because there must be something, somre kind of model to help us against society.

However, it's not an easy task to do. For instance, not all countries are provided with all the economic resources necessary to give a good education. What's more, religion can also change and influence the law and people: a muslin won't defend the same human rights than a catholic. In addition, there are alse political reasons that make people have a different point of view of all human rights.

In conclusion, a lot of variety of cultures and religions makes impossible to enforce all human rights in a law, but there should exist different laws for different groups of societies.

Why are we attracted to some people? What's cupid's chemistry about? Scientists have studied it and it seems love interacts with some substances, like adrenalin. Love has three phases: interest using romantic signals, attraction (the 'lovesick stage) and finally the attachment, when the spark of love starts to diminish.

L'església del mar.

A sad story focused on the Middle Ages of a poor guy who becomes rich, but his misfortune doesn't disappear anyway. All he does has a tragical ending, fact that proves how hard life could be in Medieval period if you didn't belong to a recognized family.

Year 1320: Bernat Estanyol and Francesca Esteva get married. Troubles start when the feudal forces Francesca to go to bed with him that same night. Francesca will never forgive Bernat because he didn't avoid his wife abuse. When Arnau's born, Francesca is asked to be a nursemaid in the feudal castle and she gets her son with her. There, she's raped by multiple soldiers and Arnau is abandoned. Finally, Bernat decides to take away his son from that castle and they run away to Barcelona. Finally, the story is focused on Arnau's life.

I love reading. I usually do it in summer, because I haven't got the time while the school is going on; and during the school year I must read books imposed from different subjects. I like reading them too, but however, I prefer reading a book chosen by myself.

Personally, I really enjoyed reading this book. I read it two summers ago and I think it's one of the best books I've ever read. In my opinion, it shows the medieval city of Barcelona, its way of life and its difficulties. Characters are from the lower class of the society, and L'església del mar shows the relationships they established with the higher class, exactly as they were in reality. Reading it, you can get an idea, you can imagine Barcelona at the beginning of the 14th century, because Falcone's capacity of describing a situation, a scenery and all characters is brilliant.

The only think I maybe didn't like was that, as it's a historical book, there are a lot of historical passages, because it's important to get situated. They are hard to read, but they are useful to know well the situation in time and history of the story.

On the whole, I'd like to recommend L'església del mar to all people who likes reading. It's a tragic story: there are some stages it seems to end well, but then, something surprises you and it ends in such a bad way, that it makes you feel really sad. However, this book is worth reading it!

The earthquake in Haiti has left lots of people in really bad conditions. Medics working with the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti have been talking about the important lack of resources they have. They say there aren’t enough doctors and nurses to cure injured people with lots of head traumas and crashed bones. They are trying to work as together as possible to make the situation a lot better but doctors are very frustrated because they know they can’t do anything else. However, there’s a hope in people there; a doctor explains the case about a girl she healed without anesthetic: the girl was singing the pain away.

I listen to the news every day and I always see news of Haiti. They’re always repeating the same: “bad conditions for Haiti”, “big disaster for Haiti”, “lots of victims in Haiti”… The question is: after a few days, will we forget Haiti or we’ll keep helping them? In my opinion we shouldn’t focus as much as we do in world’s misfortune, because we quickly forget them. However, I hope Haiti gets better as fast as possible, or at least, I wish people there live in better condition than today.

My New Year resolutions.

The truth is that I never make any resolution, for the New Year but curiously this 2010 (an important year), I've made them. Some of my resolutions this year are:

- Get my driving license. Actually, I already have my theory because I have a motorbike and I had to get the theory to be able to drive it. I'm looking forward to this September, month that I'm going to start practising, and I wish I get it the first time I go to exam on November.

- Get good marks, pass the Selectivitat exam and go to university. I include these 3 in just one resolution, because they're all related to the same topic: my studies. I don't know what degree I'm going to do, because I think I won't get the mark to study Medicine. However, I'd like to go to Girona: I love this little city and Barcelona is too big for me.

- Enjoy my life and make the most of it. I hope to live this 2010 with all people I love and love me. I'll continue going to parties as I've done on my 2009 and having the same (or more) fun that I had this last year. I also wish to continue going out with my boyfriend, Jordà, but I think that's completely sure and I don't need to do a resolution about that (jiji).

El cor de la ciutat.

El cor de la ciutat was a TV3 serie that has lasted from year 2000 until the last 2009. It's about life in two neighborhoods of Barcelona: at first it was Sant Andreu, secondly they changed to Sants and they finally returned to Sant Andreu. It finally has finished with a happy ending and I will always remember it as my daily supper time serie.

Many people don't like following TV series; they say they are boring and too long, without surprises or interesting plots. Nevertheless, El cor de la ciutat was different; I rarely have felt bored with it.

At first, they knew how to combine drama with action plots, or comedy with intrigue. When you were watching it and you though it will be a drama day, they surprised you with some action or intrigue plots. What's more, El cor de la ciutat tried to end every day with some open question that they answer during the week.

In addition, during the 9 years the series was going on, they added and suppressed some characters. I'm conscious all series add new characters, but they did it in a special way: when they abolish a character, they included him some time after, in other words, if they suppressed a character in the first period, he reappeared some periods after.

On the whole, El cor de la ciutat has been a great Catalan TV series that has gone with me for 9 years of my life, for 5 dinners a week and it will be hard to find another one like it.

Tiger Woods, the world nº 1 golf player, is going to take a break in his career because he’d like to save his marriage, after admitting his unfaithfulness to his wife Elin. What’s more, American telecommunications AT&T has finished sponsoring him.

If someone is unfaithful it’s because his relationship doesn’t roll well. But I think there are many different ways to escape from love problems.

At first, I think if we love a person we must be faithful to him. It’s not only a ban established by the relationship, but for oneself. Everyone needs to feel proud of him, satisfied and not guilty. In my opinion, unfaithfulness developes to a feeling of fault; this fault creates a bad atmosphere among the lovers.

Secondly, when we don’t love anymore our partner, we must stop the relationship correctly. We wouldn’t like our girl or boyfriend to split up with us impolitely or what’s more, to hide us his unfaithfulness; so respecting each other, lovers must be sincere.

In my opinion there are too much unfaithful people in this world. The worse thing is that I can’t (or I don’t want to) understand it. What do we obtain doing it? I think we lose love; we lose an important person that we’ll always bring in our hearts with a lot of guilt feelings.

Human rights are basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled.

2. When did human rights start?

They started the 10th December of 1948.

3. Why were they created?

They were crated after the Second World War because during the war died a lot of people and they weren't treated as humans. The United Nations wanted to finish with this kind of violence.

4. How many human rights are there?

There are 30 human rights.

5. Which human right were you not familiar with?

I wasn’t familiar with the article 24:

“Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.”

In my opinion, this human right is fully respected in my country.

Hello Sònia, I’m Clàudia and I’m not 17 yet because I was born on the 4th of November. I’m in scientific batxillerat because at the future I’d like to become a doctor. That’s my first dream, but I don’t know if I will be able to reach it: I need MINIMUM an 8.5!! However, if I cannot study medicine I think I’ll study journalism, because I love writing, reading and I have some kind of gift.

Apart from my “future jobs”, I dream about travel around the world in during one year more or less... I enjoy visiting other countries and I’m going to save my money to do it. I think I’d take a sabbatical year during my journalism career or, if I finally achieve my first dream (I mean if I finally can study medicine), I’ll do my trip after the career. I’d like to do it with my couple because I think that a year out of our homes, our cities, visiting the whole world would be very exciting!

Basically, these are my two principal dreams, but the most important dream I have is to have health. I’ll have people who love me as well, because I’m a person who needs a lot the other’s love and attention. But the nicest (and also the typical) dream I have is to create a family with the man I love.

To sum up, I have normal dreams, I think. The first dream is about my professional live; the second one it’s about some kind of hobby, and the last ones are current dreams among all humans in this live.

Paper books .vs. e-books

Nowadays, people prefer living in a digital world, more practical and fast. In my opinion paper books aren’t dead and I think there will always exist people who enjoy reading on paper rather than reading on the screen.

First of all, I would say that it’s grateful to see all your read books saved in the desk! You can always take them and remember a part of the story, even read them again.

Secondly, reading a text on a computer is really uncomfortable because your eyes get tired in a few minutes. Many hours in front of a screen aren’t good for anyone, and consequently e-books give you a headache.

However, using e-books will be more practical. An e-book implies more comfort to bring it everywhere, every time. Probably, with that new technology there won’t be more deforestation, and I think that’s a very good way to save our planet.

To sum up, I think paper books will never die, because there are people who, as me, know the magic that’s hidden between those pages. I hope they never let them last.

Twilight is a nice story between to adolescents who belong to different worlds. It shows the strength of real love in a different and emotional way.

Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are completely different. At first they don’t connect very well, but gradually they both start feeling something for the other. However, their love is so strong that nothing and it seems that anyone can separate them. But things aren’t as easy in love, and it’s worse if your lover is a vampire!

What I liked most of this film was the plot. I’m not a romantic person, but I’m really imaginative and I like surreal stories. I also liked the characters; the Cullen’s are very well customized and their white make up makes you think their bodies are really rigid and cold, they seem true vampires. I like Bella as well: she’s a timid and clumsy girl but she knows what she wants, and she only wants to be with Edward till the end of time. What’s more, the entire movie has a pale colour that helps to create the right atmosphere.

On the other side I didn’t like the excess of effects, but they are always present in a fantastic film. Even so, I was fascinated every time that some character realized an impossible thing to do for humans.

To sum up, I would say that Twilight is a love movie that shows us an idea of a fantastic world, however, untrue. I think it wants us to realize that if we love someone, even if he’s different than us, with love and patience we can get his love. In my opinion, Twilight should have 3***: just brilliant!
I recommend everyone to take popcorns, a blanket, and a sofa with good company and watch this movie. Moreover, you can already enjoy the second film now, New moon.

Presentation

In our oral presentation we used PowerPoint and real images. Although all the audience knew, we used messenger and facebook to show what it is. It was our topic, so our resources were really focused on it, and they supported our oral explanation. Our time wasn’t good, we talked very quickly and our oral was so short, only 5 minutes...

Body language and eye contact

I was looking at the audience most of the time and I didn’t read my notes; only one moment at the beginning because I forgot one thing. I only moved my arms because I was a bit nervous. However, I sometimes showed something on the PowerPoint.

Structure

We started with a dialogue to introduce our topic, and I think it was really original, because it’s a new way to do it. Our ideas were organised in order of importance, because we first explained what the messenger/facebook is, and then we talked about how they work. We tried to use some markers to help the audience and finally we did a very little conclusion.

Content

The content of our oral wasn’t new or unknown to the audience, because we talked about two very popular actual social networks that they are fed up of using it. I think we couldn’t introduce new information, because it was difficult to find what we said, so imagine if we had to find something new...! We showed examples of everything we were talking about and our message was clear.

Language

I think we use correct and complex grammar. Our vocabulary was simple but it was rich and varied, because we introduced synonyms, expressions and topic-related words. We also used connectors and fillers.

Pronunciation and intonation

I think I’ve got a good pronunciation and it was comprehensible. Because my nervousness my voice was a little bit insecure and the beginning but then I got confidence and it was good. I spoke in a fluid continuum and I tried to change my tone of voice.

   At her 43, the actress Bai Ling stays without plastic surgery. She looks pretty and sexy, but an expert surgeon says it’s because she is only beautiful. The actress thinks she will never have plastic surgery, because if she does, she will lose herself.

   In my opinion we’re too obsessed about looking like a prototype “someone” shows us trough the TV, magazines, advertisings... Do you think plastic surgery is such important as some people considers?

   We should not to care about all this sham, because the only thing surgeons are interest in, is, as everyone in this life, making money. I’m not saying we should let ourselves go, but in spite of doing a plastic surgery we might control our diet, go to the gym or practice some kind of sport.

Furthermore, I think people aren’t aware of how dangerous plastic surgery can be. Maybe, if it’s a no important intervention, risks aren’t very present, but they are there and plastic surgery can turn into health hazards.

Mother transfers cancer to her unborn daughter.

It’s the first case where a mother transfers leukaemia to her unborn daughter while she’s in her mother’s womb. Scientists have given an explanation to that fact: cancerous white blood cells passed through the mother to the foetus and get settled in the blood system of the baby.

Unfortunately, I’ve lived a cancerous disease in my family and I don’t wish it to anyone. It’s a tough, hard, sad an unpleasant situation where we ought to be courageous and as optimist as we can. When someone said me I had to amuse myself and that we would be able to overcome that cursed illness, I thought they we’re just fool and silly. They didn’t know how much I was suffering.

I think people should be more conscious about it, because it’s a very dangerous illness and it’s very shocking if you suffer it; for example, only the chemotherapy treatment it’s really hard and leaves you really exhausted, with no strength and you’re just vomiting all the day long. Believe me, it’s exceedingly a disgusting experience and I assure you it has been the most dreadful period in my life.

It had been better if my father have had an answer to his big health trouble; however, in my opinion, scientists will be able to cure this disease and it won’t be as serious as now it is.

Weeks after Kanye West humiliated Taylor Swift, his tour with Lady Gaga has been cancelled. Although West regrets his conduct and he has apologized for it, he will take a time off and analize his live.

I think anybody can't humiliate another person just because can't stand her, 'cause in my opinion is very rude. We are responsible of our actions and words, so we must think before talking... but normally it's the other way round: first we talk, and then we notice we’ve actuated wrong. We try to apologize for things we’ve done and said but sometimes it's too late because the other person feels a deep pain and is too hurt to just forget it.

In my opinion we all ought to count 10 before start discussion. In these 10 seconds, our mind can think coldly and, by itself, guess what the correct thing to do is.

I’m not really interested in athletics, but this year I’ve been keeping an eye to a special athlete: Usain Bolt.

In my opinion he’s a great athlete and someone exceptional, because he has beaten incredible records impossible to reach till he did it. I think break a record it’s not as easy as it seems to be, because behind it there’s all the effort and lots of hours of practising... and I don’t think that everybody could stand all this pressure.

People like him, in other words, people who achieve all their aims, makes me feel like more optimist because they make me think that I also can obtain what I want if I dedicate some effort and I work hard to get it.

Changes: new work style.

I’m here again... We’re all here for another year. Summer has passed so quickly that I can’t believe we’re in high school again. However, I think 2nd of batxillerat will be a short year because we’ll have to work a lot with our research projects, study hard as well and I hope we’ll go to London... so it should be a split second.

I don’t know why teachers have changed the project. It was o.k. last year; we learnt to summarize films or news, to use the internet newspapers... and I’ve realized that I have better English vocabulary. I have improved my pronunciation doing my podcasts or my oral presentations too. I needed to say new words that I didn’t know how to pronounce them, so I searched it in the internet.

Nevertheless we had to spend a lot of time on our blogs and portfolios, because there was plenty of work. It was always on the computer, so it was such exasperating because finally I got a little bit stressed and my eyes were tired.

On the whole I was happy with this project and I don’t agree with that decision to reduce our work only because some students complained about it. However, I’ll change my way of work because now it’s not necessary to spend too many hours in front of the computer.

Musical meeting.

On Sunday the 19th April I went to the Music Conservatory in Girona. There was a musical meeting there and as I love music and I play the flute very well , my teacher told me if I wanted to go. I went with David, who plays the saxophone and Àngels, who also plays the flute.
When we arrived there were only little children, well, not exactly: we were the 3 older people there. But we started to play a score they gave us and it sounded magically fantastic! It was incredible! There were oboes, clarinets, fagots, trumpets... because it was only a band meeting, only wind instruments. The second day, Sunday the 26th, my partner Àngels didn’t want to go to Girona, so I went with David. That day the four songs we played sounded almost perfect. I played the score of first violin that day.
The third day was Saturday the 9th May and I had to go to La Mirona. There, we rehearse all the show with violin too. It was the first day for Anna, who also plays the flute. We thought that it would sound perfectly the show day.
Yesterday we three went to Girona at four o’clock. We rehearsed the whole show and concert again. It started at 7 o’clock: there was a choir of little children first, then the string instruments group. The band was the third actuation and we played two songs: Medieval Suite and Cruella devil. Finally the whole orchestra played two more songs: El cavaller enamorat and Trepak, from The nutcracker.
It was fantastic. All the public was clapping. We seemed a real orchestra and I loved it, because in my town we’re not a serious musical group. I’d like to be a musician of a famous orchestra some day.

My bedroom.

My bedroom is the room in my house that I like the most. Where I lived in Roses it was the typical child room: the bed, a little table and some toys left lying around.

Since I moved to Castelló, my bedroom has been painted in bright purple. There has always been a built-in wardrobe made of wood and glass. It has a window and a little balcony.

At first it was a single bed made of wood too, near from the wall, and it had some drawers underneath it. On the headboard there were some shelves with many things on it, like music boxes, jewel cases, a lamp... and the alarm clock! Under it, I put the bedside table with many books on it and some underwear clothes. In front of it, on the other wall, there were more shelves with the TV, the hi-fi system and all my CDs. Next from my multimedia section, there was my table with my school books and a big lamp on it. I always did my homework there. The part behind of the door was covered with lots of poster from my favourite pop stars, like Busted, ECDL... or some good-looking actors like Johnny Deep or Hug Grant.

I loved my bedroom. It was very original and funny, very warm. But I started to grow up, becoming more mature and sensible, and I needed more space to study because, for example, the table was too little.

This summer I've changed my room. It’s purple as well, and it has the window and the wardrobe, but I’ve changed its furniture. Now, I’ve put 2 shelves with some books and jewels on it where firstly the table and the multimedia section have been. I can have a look at me in the mirror, because I’ve include one next to the shelves. And also next to the mirror there are four drawers with my underwear clothes or my belts. In front of all these structure there’s the bed. It’s a “tatami” double bed in the middle of the room with the headboard at the wall. All the furniture is made of white wood: the bed, all the shelves, two of the drawers and the night table I have next to the tatami. However, the headboard is made of black glass, as the two remainder drawers. I love this white and black combination! I can order the fours drawers as I prefer. Oh, I almost forgive it! I have a huge black and white picture from Manhattan and two caricatures of me: one's from Empuriabrava and the other's from Roma.

Phone calls on TV.

Many quiz shows consist on phone calls, like these ones on La Sexta or Telecinco every morning at 7 or 8 o’clock. I never watch them because I think they’re just a rip-off. Well, I’ve watched “Telecinco, dígame” once and that day it deals with people’s names; there were names like Norberto or Romina. It was impossible to find out those difficult or, some of them, unknown names!
In comedy programs like APM I’ve seen lots of short parts from those quiz shows. But the last one I’ve seen has been in YouTube, called “Maruja”. Today my mother was watching it and I could hear her laughing. I’ve asked her what was she doing and she has shown me that video.
I think if I were the poor hostess I would become mad! I would leave the set... She’s trying to explain what’s happening to Maruja but as the woman doesn’t hear at her, she’s becoming stressed. She can’t stand that situation but she must stay there, presenting the program because it’s her work.
At the same time, Maruja is getting very confused. She thinks there’s another Maruja on the phone and they both are playing as one. She doesn’t understand anything, but she neither listens to the hostess... She’s such a silly woman, I think! And that’s the reason of that video title: “Maruja (la mujer más tonta del mundo)”.

I’ve became really stressed watching the two parts of Maruja’s video. However I’ve laughed a lot!

Martí.

Martí is my biggest brother and on Sunday he’s going to be 35 years old. We had the same mother, who a few years after, knew my father and then, I was born.

There are 18 years between us, so sometimes he’s like a father for me; he has always looked after me and now he brings me to parties and I sleep at his house. My mother always tells me a story of Martí and me. She says:

“Your father and I had a dinner in a friends’ house. Ferran wasn’t at home, so Martí and you stayed alone. He said everything would be OK, so we left you calmly. When we arrived we found Martí trying to put on your nappy and you shouting: “No, Martí, you aren’t right, it goes the other way round!” The poor Martí didn’t know how to do it and you had dirtied your nappy. It was such a funny scene!”

Martí doesn’t have a lot of hair, but it’s black and curly. He never brushes it; he only applies some hair gel. Years ago, he had afro hair and I usually laugh at that, because I’m not used to see him with long hair.

He has dark skin at every time of the year, so imagine when we are in summer! He gets a suntan with only a week going to the beach. He often says to me that he doesn’t like being so dark skinned because he thinks he looks like a gypsy, but I cheer him up saying that I’d like to be as dark skinned as he’s.

We love each other and I think we have a good relationship. He’s always phoning me and advising me to go out together. We usually go to have dinner and to drink something in a bar; we go snowboarding and to some concerts... I never say how I love him, but I think it’s not necessary because I’m sure he knows it.

Scorpion.

I don’t believe in horoscopes, but one day a friend of mine says that he had read one and it was right with him. He’s scorpion, like me, so I wanted to have a look at the text and he sent it to me. I think the text is right for me as well, what do you think?

You are a person with not a lot of words, but you’re really active, not only a physical action but emotional and mental. Instinctive, sensitive and intuitive you look round, you listen and hear everything; then you think all over and you act strongly. Moreover, there’s no step back for you.

Fresh prince of Bel-Air.

Today I will tell you something about The fresh prince of Bell-Air. I used to watch it when I was little and I think it’s a very great TV series.

Will arrives to LA from Philadelphia. He’s going to live with his aunt and uncle and his cousins: Ashley, Carlton and Hilary, who live in a mansion because they’re a rich family. They have a butler, Geoffrey who’s such a funny character. Will is a problematic guy and Banks family suffers all the consequences.

The main characters I like the most are:

Will: it’s played by Will Smith. He moves to LA after his mother thinks over if it would be the solution. He’s honest and a simple person, however he always gets in troubles. He’s always getting angry with Carlton and, in Spanish he calls him “cara-cartón”. He’s a flirt and he can’t help from problems when he wants to go out with a girl.

Philip Banks: he’s the head of the family. He’s very stubborn and blames Will for everything, but he loves his nephew. He devotes a lot of time to his work, he first starts working as a lawyer and time later he’s promoted as a judge. He wants to protect his family but I think sometimes he’s a bit intolerant and long-standing.

Geoffrey Butler: As his surname says, he’s the butler of the Banks family. He always grumbles about Mr Banks, but he’s very loyal and faithful to his masters. He’s such an ironic person, like me but he loves a lot every member of that house.

Hillary Banks: she’s the oldest daughter of Philip and Vivian Banks. She’s very vain and I think she’s a little bit ignorant and silly, although she sometimes contributes to help the family. She doesn’t spend her money, she always take the visa from his father.

Jazz: Will’s best friends. He meets Will because he knows he’s Philip Banks’ nephew. He falls in love with Hillary but she doesn’t care it. Mr Banks always throws him out of the house because he thinks Jazz is an impolite person.

Swarovski.

When I was little and I lived in Roses, I find out a little collection of Swarovski in the living room; there was a swan and two little chicks. I always played very carefully with them, because I knew they were really valorous. I always sort out them in a different order than the last day, but it didn’t matter because remember their position was like a game for me.
I grew up and my fascination for Swarovski was increasing too. As my parents saw that I really like those figurines, so they decided to agree with my hobby. I wanted to have my own Swarovski collection but it was really expensive, so we started buying the little ones. I was not old enough to buy the most exciting figurines; that’s why I didn’t have many “Swarovskies”.
I always asked for a figurine for Christmas or my birthday and my parents bought me the one they liked the most and which prize was understandable.

Last summer I went to Austria. The Swarovski museum is in Insbrug, a very beautiful city there, and it was necessary to don’t leave behind to visit it. It was fantastic, lots of figurines made of Swarovski crystal and diamonds... I enjoyed it a lot and I think my mum as well. I couldn’t leave the museum without buying a figurine! I bought a cat and an Austrian bear. If I could, I would buy all the figurines there!

I have little figurines. Well, last Christmas my mother bought me a Bambi that it’s bigger than the other ones and it’s very beautiful; it has a butterfly on its bottom. In total, I have 23 figurines and most of them are animals. I have a really nice classic dancer who’s getting tied up her ballet shoes. I also love a snowman family with the mummy, daddy and their guy; they are really funny.
I look forward to become a Swarovski VIP member some day because, for example, in Austria I could enter in a hall where there were more figurines like a spectacular Mickey Mouse made, as well, of Swarovski crystal.
If it’s possible, I just want to increase my collection. I’d like to have a big figurine (only one if it’s necessary) but to get it I first need to save some or a lot of money.

Carnival in Castello.

This weekend has been the Carnival in Castelló. We really waited for it because it’s a fantastic party!
On Friday we went to have dinner at Celia’s house. We had pizzas and we went to the parade. As every year, we were late, but the parade hasn’t started yet. I passed the night dancing and having fun, but I didn’t get on the float. Julia didn’t come because she had a familiar dinner, but she arrived at time to the Saloon, a bar in Empuriabrava. We stayed there until 4 o’clock, when my uncle brought us to sleep.

On Saturday afternoon, Laura and I, we went to order some sandwiches and to buy the drinks. At 9 o’clock we were all having dinner at Laura’s house. When we arrived at the parade it hasn’t started yet. Every year I love the parade in Castelló; it’s really amazing! I got on the float with Julia with who I danced the most, Pere, Andreu and Nuri as well.
Then, the party finalised into the marquee. There played Hotel Cochambre until 5 o’clock. We passed the night there and we didn’t stop dancing. I was really tired when I get into bed and my feet hurt me a lot!
On Sunday morning, we had to go to the parade in Empuriabrava but we didn’t because it was raining. I was really tired so I sleep for more time. Until yesterday I’ve been hearing a whistle in my ears but I’m recuperated now, waiting for the next party night!

Carnival in SHS.

This weekend Laura and I, we went to Sant Hilari Sacalm to Alba’s house.
On Friday there was the Carnival party in Roses, but we didn’t go because we would go to SHS on Saturday and we wouldn’t come back until Sunday. We preferred going to SHS because there was such a long time we didn’t see our friends.
In the morning, we went to see the football match here in Castelló: Esplais versus SHS. There were playing friends of us in the two teams, but we wanted Esplais to win. They finally win: 3 – 1.
After have lunch, we went to SHS. When we arrived here we met a group of friends and went to a bar until 7 o’clock. We must be in Oasis’ house at half past 9. We had dinner there; we ate a sandwich and to start the night we drank some tequila “xupitos” and we finally went to a bar: El Líquid. There we met the whole town and a very good friend of mine, invited me to another tequila “xupito”. Laura and I, we went to El Groc, another bar, with my friend Guillem and Jofre, who was driving the car. We stayed there until 2 o’clock and we went to Villaret, a disco in SHS, by car. That time we were 7 people in it!
I danced the whole night with everyone and we left at 7 o’clock. We were really tired but the night (or morning, I don’t know) didn’t finalise there: we were hungry. So we went to Can Solà, a cake shop and we bought a chocolate croissant. It was very cold so Toni, another friend, let me a jacket and his trousers, because he lives there, and we stayed in the street until 8 o’clock.
Finally we went to sleep.
On Sunday my mother came to SHS. She said to me that she didn’t want to know the time I had go to sleep at. We were really tired but it has been the best Carnival in my life!

Risto Mejide.

I started watching Operación Triunfo when it appeared on the TV. The first year I didn’t like Bisbal or Rosa; although, she won. Then I stopped watching it because it was the same that the first version. Two years ago I watched it again. The panel of judges was constituted for 3 members, as every year, but that time there was a new member: Risto Mejide.
All people were angry with him because he’s so moody, impolite and unfriendly, and he talked to the competitors with a lot of irony and he laugh at them. By the time he’s in OT, he has only liked a competitor: Virginia. She’s really pretty and I suppose it’s because of that, like everybody says. Yes, she signs very well but there were other competitors that singed really well too and he never congratulated them.
However I agree with all he said in the programme. Instead of congratulate everyone for their excellent job, he always tried to make get angry all the competitors so, in that way, they tried to improve their voice every week. I must say that I sometimes though that he could say something in a different way because he has like a gift to hurt people sentiments.

Risto Mejide always wore sunglasses, a leather jacket and jeans. He has short and black hair (first of all he has long hair and he was very ugly). People say that he has an eye bigger than the other: it’s for that reason that he wears sunglasses.
I know he’s too big for me, but I think he’s very handsome and attractive. I like that kind of boys or men who love themselves a lot and want to be different than the other guys. I like that kind of guys that are a bit of a show-off.

An example I’ll always remember is a phrase he said to Sandra. I remember it because I didn’t like her and I laughed very much when Risto said it. I must say it in Spanish because it’s not funny if I translate it into English.

Snowboard.

My favourite sport is snowboard. I started practising it when I was 9 years old; before I practised ski, but I didn’t like it.
Snowboard it’s a secure sport. However it’s dangerous if you don’t practise it well. For example, if you try to jump with skis it’s possible that you fall, and your legs could bundle up and you can break your knees. It can’t happen to you if you go with a board, because you’ve got your feet tied to the same place. But you can suffer other serious injuries as well.

Last year I was in Font Romeu with Albert, who was snowboarding, Cèlia and Laura, who were skiing. Albert and I, we went out of the slope and the fixation of my board tore up when I crashed into a tree. I had to down the slope with only one foot on the board. I went with Laura and Cèlia went with me.
I was not going very fast, but as I had only one foot fixated on the board, I fell with my face on the snow. It was so heavy, that I did two or three somersaults and my board banged to my head. I was lucky, because I wore a helmet. If I had not wore the helmet I think my head was divided into two parts. I heard Laura and Cèlia, very scared, asking to me if it was all OK. I neither couldn’t breathe nor talk, so I just said NO with my fingers. I cried a little bit, because it really hurt to me. For next Saturday I bought a new board. I only can say to you that if you go skiing or snowboarding, you must wear helmet.
I really love snowboarding and I just hope have a flat in Puigcerdà or Llíbia to go skiing every weekend. On Sunday I’m going to La Molina with my brother, Ferran.

Font Romeu.

Last Saturday, on the 17th, I went to Font Romeu, a ski station. I left from Castelló by bus, at 6 o’clock in the morning, so I got up at 5 o’clock! I went with Laura, Alba and Cristina. I slept the entire trajectory to Font Romeu; I was really tired.
We arrived there at half past 9. First of all, we went to have breakfast, like every year, because I never eat anything before a trip. Then, we went to put on our ski or snow boots and pick up our skis or boards.
We started descending slopes. We started with a green one and I filmed them with my video camera. There, we met Anna and she came with us. In the afternoon Maria and Cristina came with us too, so it was really funny. Anna and me, we do snowboarding and we were faster than the other 4, but it didn’t matter.
At the end of the day, at 4 o’clock, we went to the bus. We were all prepared to leave, but the bus got stuck on the snow. All men were pushing the bus and taking out the snow from under the wheels of the bus. Finally a breakdown truck arrived and it could take out the bus. All that took an hour, and we were very nervous because we had to go to Judith’s house, in St Pere, and then to the party. We arrived to Castelló at 8 o’clock, we took a shower we dressed up and we were ready to have fun!

Since 2 years I became a page boy when Christmas is coming.
On the 17th and 18th of December Laura Juncà, Laura Peña, Mercè Bolasell and I, we went to the 2 schools here in Castelló. The first day I wore the green suit and on the 18th I dressed up with a purple one and a curly black wig. We had to paint our faces in black because it’s traditional that Balthazar’s pages go to pick up all the letters.
The next day was on the 3rd of January. Laura Juncà and I, we went to pick up the letters in Castelló. Lots of children came to see us and they were really excited. I wore the green dress that day too. I can remember a little girl in front of me; he was looking so scared and she didn’t want to give me her dummy. Finally she went near me and gave her dummy and her letter to me. It was funny too, because I thought about me, if when I was their age I was like them and looked so fascinated. I supposed I was...
The last day, the 5th of January I always think it’s the best day. At 6 o’clock we went to dress up in the Pavelló. That day I wore a very nice gold suit, with a black and leather belt. We went from the Pavelló to the Cathedral with the 3 Kings. Then, some of us, like every year, went to gave presents at poor families. I can’t say many things of it because it’s like a secret (I don’t know if it’s the exactly word...) but I can assure that it’s fantastic see that children so happy with their new toys. I went to 2 houses here in Castelló and 6 in Empuriabrava.
I arrived at home at midnight. I hadn't eaten yet, so I cleaned my face and dress up with my clothes and I had dinner. As every year, the 3 Kings come to have dinner in Laura's house. They are our parents' friends so, when they have finished with children they come and give us a present.
Every year I wait for those 4 days that I become really important for the children. I really like see them happy and perceive the illusion in their eyes. It’s magical.

Happy New Year!

Yesterday I went to have dinner at Julia’s house. Every New Year I had dinner at Laura’s house but this year we decided to have dinner together. In the morning we went to buy to the supermarket and we chose all we wanted to eat.
At 10 o’clock we were in Fortià and all our friends started to arrive. We had dinner in the kitchen; the food was really good: we ate chicken. At a quarter to 12, we were a little bit nervous to start a new year. We were watching TV3. I couldn’t eat all my 12 grapes, it was impossible!
Then we went to celebrate it to St Pere. There were problems with cars to go there, but finally we all could go. It was fantastic! We were dancing all night. Finally, at half past 5 we went home. I have slept to Laura’s house and we were very tired. We really like New Year’s parties.

Changeling.

Today I’ve gone to the cinema with Laura, Cèlia, Oriol and Xavi. We’ve seen “El intercambio”. I think all of us have enjoyed the film; Laura was a little bit scared sometimes, but I think she has liked it too.

We are in 1828: Christine Collins works as an operator in a phone office and has a son, Walter Collins. They live together in their house, in Los Angeles. One day she must go to work and she promises Walter, that after they will go to the cinema. When Christine gets home Walter isn’t there. She calls the police and they start a research.
Nine months after, they give her a child who says he’s her son. She knows he isn’t Walter, but the police tell her that Walter has changed a lot and she’s too impressed, so she brings that child to her house.
While that strange boy is living with her, she’s trying to make the police believes her. In the past, women were very weak into society, and police takes her to a mental hospital, because she’s tarnishing the police’s reputation, saying they were wrong with Walter.
At the same moment, there’s a boy who has gone from LA with a familiar, Gordon Northcott. He’s mad and crazy and they live in a farm. They catch children and kill them. The boy helps him because if he doesn’t do it, Gordon will kill him. He tells all that to the police and they find all that killed and buried boys.
A priest helps her fighting against the police and a lawyer too, who’s going to defend her in a court. Gordon is declared guilty and he gets the death penalty.
A boy, who has been in that farm and could escape, goes to the police. He tells that he could do it because Walter helped him. He says that he hasn’t said anything in all that time because he was afraid, and now he misses his parents and wants to goes home. That takes a little bit of hope to Christine and she never stops searching Walter.

In real live it has happened too. I think it’s very shocking, don’t you? Well, I like that kind of films. It’s similar to “The boy in the striped pyjamas”, where they show you true stories. When the film finishes I feel a little bit sad because there appeare horrible facts and I can't realize how in the world it can happen things like that.

La Fuga.

I know I've already talked about La Fuga, but this time I want to talk about the concert in Girona this Saturday.
Cèlia came home and Martí takes us to Figueres, where we met Judit. We four went to Salt and met my other brother, Ferran, Miriam, his girlfriend and two friends in the Espai Gironès. There we had dinner at nine o'clock. We went to Montaditos and it was really good. They wanted to eat 12 montaditos in groups of three and I said it was too much, but they didn't listen to me, so Celia, Judit and I, we try to eat 12 montaditos, but we couldn't. We were all paying attention to the TV, because there was Barça-Madrid.
La Mirona opened doors at 10 o'clock, so we didn't saw the match. Martí brought us to the concert and then, he returned to the bar. There was a lot of people in the cue, but we entered very quickly and we arrived at the fourth row. We met Ramos, Màrius, and Jordi... We waited until eleven o'clock, when the concert started.
I was very nervous when I saw the guitarist on the stage. Then, the drummer appeared and they were playing the beginning of a song. Finally I could see Rulo, the singer. People started shouting and their first song was Los molinos. The concert lasted up to 2 o’clock and it was fantastic! They are excellent on the stage, the best group I‘ve ever seen.
It isn’t necessary to that I really enjoyed it. I think Cèlia and Judit too. We had a lot of fun and it will be an unforgettable day! When the concert finished we said: we must go to another La Fuga’s concert!

Decisions.

In all our live we must have important decisions. Decisions are the way we’ve chose to continue our live. It’s something similar as if you are driving in the road and you can go to Figueres or to Roses. You start thinking and you find out that if you go to Figueres you cannot go to Roses, because they are in different ways and you can’t go to both places at the same time.
Then, when you are in Figueres you want to know what’s happening in Roses, but you can’t, because to know what’s happening there, you must be in Roses and you aren’t. So maybe, you take the car and drive to Roses; you’re so nervous that you need to go there because there’s where you have ever lived. Finally you go to Roses and you see that there’s where you want to stay, so you keep there and don’t move.
Well, I know my text it’s a bit paranoiac but it’s just an example for you to understand what I’m trying to tell you. When I make a decision I’m always asking: what would happen if I had chose the option B? I think it has happen to all of you. I just can say that we must be sure of our decisions; if we’re wrong we’ll be able to correct it in the future in a similar situation.

That’s a video from Desperate Housewives. It’s a really funny example. I’ll put you in situation: Susan has been in love with Mike and now she’s going to marry Ian but she’s still in love with Mike. When she has to choose the cake, Mike is in front of one and Ian, in front of the other, so she doesn’t care about cakes and she’s thinking about the 2 men she has in front of her.

As you know, in 4th Novembre it was my birthday. Some members of my family gave me presents, but my mother's waiting for a computer to arrive in the shop.

In my home there's only oe computer that has internet. My mother is a teacher, so she needs it, and, I need it to, of course (I must do my portfolio work). So there are not enough computer for we two, because when I need it, she's working with it, or the other way.

I don't like desorder, I hate it... it feels me nervous! And my mother, with all her files is very desorderes and she has all of them in all parts of the computer, so I go mad when I try to work on it. I only have a folder and a pendrive for my thinks.

Sony is a brand of electrodomestic products and they have computers too. VAIO CS it's a really beautiful computer model, don't you think it? Well, so when it arrives, my brother will just let us know, 'cause he works in Idea, in Girona. It will be in black. I look forward to my computer and I hope it arrives soon!

La Fuga.

I can't say that La Fuga is my favourite group, because I like lots of music groups. But I can say that they are the ones I like the most.
I started to listen to it when my brothers, as you know, Martí and Ferran, showed it to me. I listen to some music groups because they have said to me: "Hey, Clàudia, I know a good music group, listen to it, you'll like it!". Everytime they say "you'll like it" they are right; we like the same kind of music.

Well, so I really liked it. When I listened to it, nobody that I know listened to it to. Some weeks after, La Fuga became more popular and people started to listen to it.

This year, I've been to La Fuga's concert. It was on the 23rd of May. I had to choose between the concert an Playback, but I prefered that concert, because it was really important to me and I said: "Oh, I don't know when I will be able to be to another La Fuga's concert!". I went with my brothers and their friends. It was in Barcelona, in Razmatazz. I must say that it's de best concert I've ever been, apart from Fito y Fitipaldis. I can't describe it, you must be in the concert to know all the feelings I have felt.

I didn't know when I'll go to another concert... until last week. A friend told me that on 13th December there's anoter concert in Girona! So I told it to my brothers and we'll go to Girona. I'm quite nervous because, as I've said, it's fantastic! Cèlia is coming with us that time. I think it will be unforgettable!

Laura... I know you know her. But I'm sure you don't know Laura as well as I know her. She's my cousin and since we're little we've been together day by day, night by night.

Years ago, I lived in Roses. Every Friday, my parents went out with their friends and Laura's parents, so Laura and I, we stayed at Laura's house with our grandmother. It was fantastic! We had dinner and we stayed in front of the TV watching 'Noche de estrellas'. Every Friday when I arrived to her house, she opened the door and sayed: Cuaadiaa! and I answered her and shouted: Laauaa! It was funny to see us.
In summer we went every day to the Club Nàutic from Empuriabrava with my mother, because she's a teacher, so she didn't had school either. Then, we had lunch in our grandparent's house, and after, we gone sleeping for a while. Well, our grandmother thought we were sleeping but we were having fun.

Now we're 16 (well, she'll be sixteen on Friday), and we're still together. I can't imagine my life without Laura. We've lived lots of experiencies together: good and bad ones, but in general ALL our experiencis are very memorable. We want to stay together as long as it would be possible, because we've got too lots of plans for our future.

I love making photos and Laura made that 'moviemaker' with the latest photos of our 2. It's in La Salut de Terrades last weekend.

My phobia.

Phobia: a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.

That's what we understand for phobia. Now I'm gonna tell you my phobia. You'll think I'm very exagerate or crazy... NO I'm not! I can't control it, it's something in my mind that I can't change it, because my brain orders get away when... when I see... a BEE! Yes, I turn into a nervous and mad way. I start running up and down, in circles... I shout a lot and I hide behind anyone near me. If you are next to me, you must kill or move the bee away from us. If you don't, I don't stop shouting and runing and... You think I'm crazy, I know... I've said it to you.

When I was little, I saw a film: "Mi chica", where the little boy dies because he's allergic and a lot of bees stung him. So I started being afraid of them. I know that he was allergic, but more than once, a bee stung me and it hurt me a lot.

So I can't control my brain. It says to me: be alert, Clàudia, a be: give away! And I notice him, then I start screaming and running. It's funny to see me when a be and I are in the same space.
